Synopsis
The Texas Department of Insurance contracted Lumenbrite Training to provide Acrobat X 508 Accessibility and LiveCycle Designing Interactive Forms training. Originally starting forms in Word and converting to PDFs, the agency needed a more efficient process to create PDF forms. Their forms needed to be fillable, savable from the web and they needed to comply with accessibility standards. More than 60 members of the faculty at TDI attended these courses at our Austin headquarters.
Acrobat X Professional: 508 Accessibility and Forms training covered topics including:
- Understanding what accessibility means
- Using Acrobat Professional to check PDFs for accessibility
- Converting documents from other programs, like Word, to accessibile PDFs
A select group of the staff attended the LiveCycle Designer training where they learned how to use the tools to create advanced forms easily.

Adobe DIR Seminars
Synopsis
Adobe DIR seminars were a series of sessions that demonstrated the use of Acrobat and LiveCycle technologies to create paperless solutions with dynamic PDF documents. The latest technologies and methods were covered in these sessions. Topics included basic use of Acrobat Professional, using LiveCycle Designer to easily create interactive PDFs, using web server technology to collect PDF form data and the LiveCycle Enterprise Suite. PDF Accessibility and how to create and check accessible PDFs was also a focus, as Federal agencies are required to make their electronic and information technology accessible to people with disabilities under Section 508.
These half-day seminars were funded by Adobe and partnered by The Department of Information Resources, sessions were held at our Austin headquarters. Promotional materials included an Adobe DIR Seminars registration website, as well as email marketing to all DIR contacts. Total attendance was approximately 300 people over the six sessions. The following seminars were held over a six month time-frame:

- Designing Forms Workflow with Acrobat Pro and LiveCycle Designer
- How to Create PDF Forms from Web Applications

Cross Media Seminars
Synopsis
Cross Media Seminars was a major conference that addressed the crossover of different Adobe software suites and industries including practical application, best practices and smart design as well as how to deliver your media to mass audiences effectively. Cross Media Seminars were a series of presentations that demonstrated the integration of print, video and the web using best practices with Adobe CS3 products.
This was a production put on solely by Lumenbrite Training for the general public at the Phoenix Convention Center. A customized conference website with user management tool was built. Promotioal materials, including print, video and web marketing campaign was run internally. Total attendance was approximately 1500 people over the three day event. Partner sponsors included Adobe, AIGA and others. The following were conference days that were customized presentations:

Digital Cafe Project, A Community Technology Center
Synopsis
The Digital Cafe Project was a Department of Education funded program that Lumenbrite developed to instruct youth how to use digital creation tools to create websites, digital portfolio and build professional development skills. The program was established in Downtown El Paso, Texas in 2003. The training center setting was a real cafe/coffeeshop with movie theatre and computer training lab. The center served the program and the public with access to internet and cutting-edge communication arts software training and services.
This was a 8 week program using Macromedia Fireworks, Dreamweaver and Flash MX 2004 to build digital artwork. In addition, the digital technologies were paired with NETS and TEKS standards for high school education to teach mathematics and language arts. The program lasted 2 years and served over 500 disadvantaged high school students in the El Paso, Texas area.
Lumenbrite created customized materials, marketed the program to high school and youth organizations, and performed training. The program was very influential with the young minds that attended.
