We're gearing up for the summer with some new shirts, but we're in need of some inspiration. So we are holding a t-shirt design contest that will be running from now till July 15, 2010. The contest's rules are pretty simple: Create a t-shirt design that has a theme related to the Web, Print or Video industry for a chance to win an Adobe CS5 Premium Software Bundle of your choice.

We will be accepting entries created in either Illustrator, Photoshop, Fireworks, or EPS, but your entry must be submitted as a PDF. To submit your entry, send your artwork to support@lumenbrite.com. All entries will be reviewed and posted on the Lumenbrite Forum under the Lumenbrite Contest Discussion. If you are submitting multiple entries, please send a separate email and attachment for each entry. Do not send multiple entries in a single email.

2009 Adobe User Group Tour

Adobe is sponsoring a tour this June that will make stops in 119 cities around the globe. All Adobe User Groups were encouraged to put their name in the hat to be a part of this tour, and the Austin Flash Platform was chosen!! This user-group, sponsored by Lumenbrite, will be welcoming Adobe Evangelist, Terrence Ryan, to our Austin location. Lumenbrite is proud to announce the Grand Opening of our new training center in Austin, TX. Officially, we opened our doors on February 15th, and we have been running classes weekly ever since. The center is located inside the Design Center of Austin in south Austin. We are surrounded by wonderful, creative people, and enjoying the Austin atmosphere.

To celebrate this great change, we are having a Grand Opening celebration and monthly Flash User Group meeting at the Center. We will be grilling up some hamburgers and bratwurst, having a few flash-based presentations, and enjoying the company of our clients! We have just opened a new training center in South Austin at Penn Field. It's a really creative place with exposed ceilings, brick walls, fountains, ponds and a bit of history. Penn Field was built during WWI as an Army barracks and training facility. Today it is filled with interior designers, architects, a playhouse, coffeehouse, Gibson guitars and much more. It is a warm friendly place that is definitely Austin.

We have recently written a couple of articles on the Adobe Developer Network website. These are articles covering some of the new features in Dreamweaver CS4. Be sure to check them out if you are a Dreamweaver user or if you are interested in learning more about what is in store for you in CS4.

The first article/tuturial deals with using YUI Yahoo widgets in Dreamweaver CS4 and the second is about the Extract JavaScript Command.

I hope you enjoy them! We are teaching these in our Dreamweaver CS4 classes beginning the first part of 2009.

The Austin Flash Platform Adobe Usergroup (AFPAUG) and Lumenbrite Training will host a Creative Suite 4 Launch Event. We will be covering new features in this major release. Get your name in our drawing to win a CS4 Design Premium. We will also be giving away some Adobe branded goodies!

We are hard at work creating a new series of training courses to whet your whistle. Some of these courses are not from our typical offerings. These new courses include a Creative Design Training and a PHP Toolbox training using Dreamweaver. Did you know that we do a seminar series of courses that we can offer at your location? We can and do! We will also be offering CS4 training by the year's end.

We are proud to announce our first Adobe AIR class at Lumenbrite. We will be conducting a Flex 3: Building AIR Applications with Flex class in Austin, Texas. This is a formed class and open to the public.

We have created some cool new pages on the site to feature each of our Adobe Training locations. These sections include some panoramas, maps using the Yahoo Maps API for Flash and most importantly, details about each of these locations.
